{Sofa Table with Annie Sloan}

So here's my 3rd table make-over for you! I have to say, I've REALLY enjoyed painting furniture. I never thought I would, because in general I despise painting.  But seeing these table transformations has been so fun.

It started out as just a generic cherry sofa table. {of course I forgot to actually take a before, so I found this picture for you of a similar table}

Notice how that frame goes all the way around the bottom? I always thought it should have just been a shelf. So, I decided I wanted to add a "shelf" to the bottom, it just looked like it needed one, don't you think?  So I collected some old pallets and got to chopin.

Aren't I stylin in my Coach "safety googles" I was so proud that I didn't cut off any of my fingers!

I cut the pallet down into pieces that fit, I didn't measure because I wanted to achieve a rustic, beachy feel.

Then I lightly sanded each cut piece of pallet, you'll see what I did with all those pieces in a bit!

Using my lovely Annie Sloan in Old White I painted the legs.

Sanded the top

Distressed the bottom & legs.

Then I went back and added the pallet pieces to the bottom of the table & stained them.

LOVE it! {I did go back and trim pieces so they were more even}

I also stained the top {now it matches the end table that I painted & stained!}

I painted the outside of the drawers Old White and the insides AQUA! {Love that aqua paint}.

The color came out funny in my photos, the top is actually more of a chocolate color, much darker and more brown than it looks in this photo.

So what do you think? I'm LOVING it! I'm so proud of myself for these furniture make-overs! They make a huge difference and really pull the house and our decor together! I know I love it, but what do you think?

Linking up with these fun parties!

What a fabulous table!! I love the stained top with the painted bottom. I've been dying to try ASCP, and I have a very similar table, but it doesn't have the support around the legs on the bottom. Love pallets!

LOVE LOVE it! I have a similar table I picked up cheap on craigslist. painted heirloom white, but I need to distress it - and i knew it needed a shelf under it - but wasn't sure what or how! Now I know! THANK YOU!
